About me

 I started SJM Bookkeeping Ltd after 8 years initially being a sole trader because I wanted to build something on my own terms.  Like many business owners, I thrive when I have the freedom to strike the right balance — caring for my family, prioritising my own wellbeing, and giving my clients the attention they truly deserve. It's that flexibility that allows me to show up as my best self, both personally and professionally . 

Through my work I kept seeing the same problem: small business owners drowning in their finances simply because they couldn't afford to bring someone in-house. Big businesses have whole finance teams behind them — and I knew there had to be a better way for the rest of us. 

With over eight years in bookkeeping and finance, I'm a MICB Level 3 qualified bookkeeper and Xero Certified Professional. My practice is licensed and regulated by the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers. I understand the pressures of running a business, and I know how much headspace is freed up when your books are in safe hands. 

Based in Cowplain Hampshire, I work with businesses of all shapes and sizes — if you want tidy books, I'd love to work with you. Over the years I've built a particular specialism with clients in the Marine Industry and Creative Agencies, but my door is open to any business ready to get their finances in order. I love the variety, and I love the detail. If your business involves project tracking, that's where I really come into my own — it can be complex, but getting it right makes a tangible difference to how clearly you can see your numbers and make decisions."
